The most interesting thing I remember was Ludwig's obsession with swans. the door handles were swans, the ceiling had swans on it, the walls had swans, I even bought a stein that has a picture of him with swan emblems at a small town near there. The Castle was not even completed until 10 years after the Ballet Swan Lake was composed. Swan Lake was actually based on Russian Fables and Fairy Tales. King Ludwig had a "thing" for Swan symbolism.
