Those computer station are really cool and amazing. If you have a lot of money and time you can spend it to make something which will look like on those sets. Take a look at those weird and cool pictures of those geeky computer sets. Some of you will say that those sets are too much, but for some guys it is not. I suppose that they wants more, bigger and better. Those computer stations sets are not so high tech, they are made at home I think. Everyone of those guys did it as they wanted to, or as they could do. Maybe, after some time, some of those will be much stronger and much, much more geekiest.

they would all look much cooler if they were running Linux - its what they use in the movies for setups like this!

  2. 2008.03.21 16:25

uhhh, they are not real geeks. I don’t see any linux desktops there.

  3. 2008.03.22 00:27

There is no way you can be that productive with so many monitors.

  4. 2008.03.22 01:09

    And i thought I was geeky :)

  5. 2008.03.22 01:18

    Why?

  6. 2008.03.22 02:28

    O_o

    “… no words… they should have… sent… a poet!”

  7. 2008.03.22 03:54

    Epic geekasm!

  8. 2008.03.22 05:08

More monitors with M$ Windows, means more errors at a time, so.. whats the point?
U can have the same desktop space with 2 apple cinema displays, one powerful computer, Mac OS, and no errors or BSD’s, with the same cost of those pcs..

Remember, even when u sum 3, 4, 8 mustangs cobra, u can’t beat one Ferrari.

  9. 2008.03.22 05:16

lame stations are lame… Two / Three Monitors is enough.. You can’t possibly need 4 monitors.. Not to mention most of those setups are two monitors per computer.. If you kids were smart you would have 4 per each computer (using SLI dual cards) But being you don’t watercool your computers your fans would burn up and the heat would melt your fail minds.

  10. 2008.03.22 06:37

This is why the earth is dying

  11. 2008.03.22 06:44

Those are sweet. So what I would like to know next is how many machines are running each of these multi-screen set-ups? I mean 6 - 16 monitors on one machine would be hellacious.

  12. 2008.03.22 08:20

    You people are freaking insane!

  13. 2008.03.22 09:16

Seems like the people who own this computers need a lot of money to maintain their hobby.

I wonder if somehting useful is made with this huge desktops systems.

  14. 2008.03.22 09:44

wow this is a gamer PC :)))

  15. 2008.03.22 10:58

Hey - here’s an idea - why not credit the sources of these pictures?

  16. 2008.03.22 12:10

Why do they are all Widnows machines???

  17. 2008.03.22 13:08

These setups are only for weird nerds. Normal people laugh and point at them.

  18. 2008.03.22 14:11

makes me want to become a stock broker…

  19. 2008.03.22 14:20

really cool, I’m thinking of buying six 22″LCD’s and making something like this myself

  20. 2008.03.22 14:56

Que flipaos!! Y ¿para que quiere 7 monitores una persona??

  21. 2008.03.22 17:13

    why not just get a 50″ lcd….?

  22. 2008.03.22 17:46

I really don’t see the point of having more than 2 screens, it is great to be able to play a game while having a browser open on the other screen but 7 screens I think its a waste of money looks nice nonetheless

  23. 2008.03.22 18:22

Any information about what these setups actually are? eg. how many machines are running vs. number of monitors. That net of older boxes with the CRT nestled inside looks especially cool. What are the specs of the boxes? What are the means of distributing instructions across the net?

  24. 2008.03.22 20:18

These are kind of tame by geek standards. Multiple monitors don’t make you a geek. A desk shaped like the Enterprise with a captain’s chair may.

  25. 2008.03.22 20:22

    I Agree with bob.

And why not just get a big T.V LCD with PC inputs ? Would it not be equal

  26. 2008.03.22 21:34

pretty crazy. i’d like to know what kinda jobs these guys are doing - i know myself personally would top off at around 3 or 4 screens, but i only do design.

  27. 2008.03.23 00:27

    I second that

  28. 2008.03.23 04:26

    it’s never enough is it

  29. 2008.03.23 06:18

    Booo for not crediting sources.

  30. 2008.03.23 06:21

and where these pictures are taken and and who built these setups …

  31. 2008.03.23 21:21

    ZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzz

  32. 2008.03.24 12:30

    Wow, they are really geeky!

  33. 2008.03.25 15:28

Wow, this site it a joke.

  34. 2008.03.28 17:59

    5 pc’s 5 wow’s, guy is grinding instances by himself! =D

The only “geeky” configuration is the fourth, that is propably a rendering farm. The others are just eye candy as mentioned. There are lots of people around the world that think that connecting a computer to a TV through s-video is very nerdy, so are those configurations above to me. All you need is couple of videocards or a network video stream software.

  36. 2008.04.03 20:49

I have two monitors but have used setups that have 4+ and you can be really efficient if you need it. I do a lot of video editing and 4 monitors comes in really handy.

  37. 2008.05.24 02:28

Most of these dont look 2 geeky 2 me. Look at the speakers. Its a perfect gaming setup!

  38. 2008.08.27 02:07

I happen to support a guy’s network empire that he uses for stock trading. His desk has 7 24-inch LCD displays setup horizontally, and no desk in his office has less than 4 24-inch monitors. The entire network is Windows based, and I have yet to see a BSOD, crash, or error of any kind from any of his systems. All these geeks who thinks Linux is the only way you can do it just need to setup a Windows system properly.

i have worked with +6 monitors working in a local theater but that was so i could have all my lighting, sound and personal desktop running all at once. my home setup is basically 2 19″ widescreen lcds.

THANK Eric for what you said most of the above could only make fun of the photos or cut him down for doing this and with out a reason as to why it was no good. Well GEEKS why is so bad? If you can not answer then why open your big mouth?

Wasted Time Developing Room to get more pictures.
Will less investment Just Buy a Projector and use it
No Need to set up 4-8 Display devices.

In Simple words This is not Geek This is gimmick for those people who don’t know such things.

I am unable to understand why such things are called geeky. And why just setting up multiple display is used to hypnotize the end users…
