Dr. Ing. h.c. F. Porsche AG, often shortened to Porsche AG, or just Porsche, is a German manufacturer of automobiles majority owned by the Austrian Porsche and Piëch families.
This Porsche really looks cool. Maybe little weird too. You can see on those pictures golden Porsche, 100% covered with gold. The words is not enough to describe it, just take a look at those images of the Porsche, incredible work.
It was founded in 1931 by Ferdinand Porsche, an Austro-Hungarian engineer, born in Maffersdorf (Vratislavice), Bohemia (now part of the Czech Republic) who also designed the first Volkswagen.
The company is headquartered in Zuffenhausen, a city district of Stuttgart, Baden-Württemberg. They currently produce 911 (997), Boxster, and Cayman sports cars and Cayenne sport utility vehicles.

Thing looks kinda ugly IMO.
ya it looks horrible. you can see where the gold leafs meet eachother. all the little tiny squares.
I did the same thing with post-it notes once.
Sweet…
although you can still see the squares of gold foil, larger sheets of foil or even a design with the squares would be more appealing.
That said it’s still awesome.

i like the concept, but it doesnt look smooth enough
The pictures are small, I’m positive that if you did a walk-around in real life it would be stunning. Would Porsche cover a car in gold if it didn’t look good? I doubt that a small amount of planning or consulting went on prior to such an exhibit. Wonder if they left it on or stripped it after the show… I’ve been gold-panning before.. working on one of my own. I have almost .03 square inches.
Ugly? I’d say hideous. If the gold was more seamless, it’d be more attractive.
Cool pics, but it would have been nice if you included more information ABOUT the pictures, rather than a history of Porsche, which somehow also failed to mention the name of that famous German dictator who was involved with the company (along with VW). The car covered in gold is a Porsche Boxster, by the way.
Looking on the internet, just at one source. Gold leaf is around $5 per square foot. I have no idea what it is but I’d guess this car probably has a hundred or so square feet of surface. So I guess this would cost $600 to $1200 for the gold leaf alone. But then again, you can probably get it in bulk for a much cheaper price, the only place I could find gold leaf on Google was selling it in 6 sq.ft. books.
Yeh, the car looks terrible!

You know this thing wouldn’t last a week on the road before some silly ass decided it would be funny to key it.
[...] that said, the idea of owning a Porshe covered in gold leaf has never occurred to me. I guess those goals weren’t lofty [...]
