I can't believe people are actually arguing over whether this is true or not. does nobody have the ability to think for themselves? surely you know what a 2 way mirror is made of - we've all seen one and it says above what it is. USE YOUR BRAIN! thats how we got to the top of the food chain!
you can't just rely on other people to supply you with information - thats why the media and government can do whatever the hell they want, because people accept what they say without question. Who told you that everything on Snopes was true?
anyway, knowing what a 2 way miror actually is, its pretty obvious whenever you come across one. I mean, you can tell just by looking at the edges. although apparently my iq is 135 which gets kind of annoying sometimes, because its hard to understand how average people think.

This one is false. Here are few tips how you can detect real one:.

you guys missed that statement.

anyway, 2 way mirrors are NOT coated like regular mirrors are, with silver. they're chemically treated, though I forget the exact process

I read the article and then I read the comments and then I wept for humanity. 90% of the people who took time out of their otherwise undoubtedly 'happening' lives to respond to this posting appear to have completely missed the author's (numbered!!) points.

Or is it just me?

Read it again, geniuses. The first portion is a quote of the misinformation being spread. The remainder of the posting tells you how to truly detect a two-way mirror (some of which can also be found on the Snopes website).

To the administrator who posted this, I recommend using HTML formatting to ensure people understand which words are quoted and which are yours. A blockquote and emphasis should do the trick nicely.

You dummy; if you actually follow the link to the Snopes article, it shows that your claim is FALSE!

This is not a 100% safe test. The fingernail test only tells you on which side a piece of glass is coated to function as a mirror. The 2-way mirror could stil have its reflective coating on the backside of the mirror, leaving a gap between your fingernail and the image of your nail giving you the false sensation that you can safely pick your nose in front of the mirror ;)

Did you notice how your "source" says the exact opposite of what the article says? It's finny how you can cite anything as a source, but unless your audience reads it, they will never know how little credibility you actually have.
