I have been to this house. It was built in Las Vegas and donated to a local charity. I think KB built the home. I remember the governor and a senator went to the opening. It was huge deal, even for Vegas
yes.. the garage is too far out and the ‘main’ part of the house is too thin… the house itself is the right proportions.. just move the garage to the right and back
I am pretty sure they did not have trees in the front yard of the simpsons house. Shouldn’t there be butterflies in the yard because “Nobody ever suspects the butterfly”. Great job on posting the pictures.
I remember this from a few years ago - this is a house in Las Vegas that was given away in a contest. - Yes, the garage does jut out more then in the cartoon version of the house, but they needed to do so that there was enough space on the ground floor for all of the rooms. - - I wonder if the people who one the house kept it all Simpson-y, or if they painted it an made it a “real” home.
The reason the garage sticks out more is they moved the laundry room from the basement upstairs, since they did not build the basement for the house. This was explained on a TV special about the house. I believe it’s on one of the Simpsons DVD box sets.

Isn’t it 742 Evergreen Terrace, The garage says 712. And I think the garage is far out to accomodate the dining room and not have a car at the dinner table. Otherwise pretty acurate i must say. WOW! im such a nerd.
The garage was designed like that because of lot space. The house is located in Nevada outside of Vegas if i remember correctly. It was part of a giveaway by fox and the simpsons. It is explained better on one of their dvd’s in the extra’s.
What the heck is that green thing on the 3rd picture on the roof?? And I agree, I think the garage is a little far out (and does the door seem kinda slanty in the first picture?).
by trying to replicate the design as closely as possible (ie: the bright visual colors) the creators lost the general idea behind the house and are all probably gay niggers
Well, in the cartoon, the garage is closer, but in the real life, if you want your garage to actually function, you need to have it farther out than what it is in the cartoon.

What a horrible place to live. Cartoons exist for a reason. This should never be applied in real life. Beautifully lit and prepared it could be a feast for the eyes, but not this… Never this. It IS creepy.
Hard to believe they’re paying close attention to the details of the house when they didn’t even get the address right! Everyone knows it’s 742 (Evergreen Terrace).
Yeah the garage is a bit too far out. And the dining table in the kitchen is supposed to be closer to the cabinets. Other than a few glitches, it is awesome. Love it.

Where is this, and why is it there? Very accurate, but the grass is too nice. It grew on me, and now I want to live there.

December 19th, 2007 at 11:58 pm

December 20th, 2007 at 12:53 am
Yes, the garage is wrong.
Would this be the house that was offered as a prize in a contest a few years ago? I remember entering it.

December 20th, 2007 at 8:43 am
