Isn’t the garage abit too far out??? I guess I don’t watch enough Simpsons!

  3. Jenn December 19th, 2007 at 10:47 pm

Cool, yes…but why? Does somebody live there?

  4. Harris December 19th, 2007 at 10:49 pm

Where is this, and why is it there? Very accurate, but the grass is too nice. It grew on me, and now I want to live there.

  5. Kmuzu December 19th, 2007 at 10:56 pm

I have been to this house. It was built in Las Vegas and donated to a local charity. I think KB built the home. I remember the governor and a senator went to the opening. It was huge deal, even for Vegas

  6. Jenny December 19th, 2007 at 11:01 pm

wow that is nuts. ima have to pass this around to people i know. my hubby wants to know where the house is. i said cali most likely.

  7. random1 December 19th, 2007 at 11:16 pm

No source link, no further info, is this photoshopped?… just pics?

  8. Lloyd December 19th, 2007 at 11:51 pm

really, really, really creepy… whoever did this has WAY too much time on their hands

  9. sonofa December 19th, 2007 at 11:55 pm

“Isn’t the garage abit too far out???”

You’re right. We’ll have to have them go back and fix it.

  10. jesse December 19th, 2007 at 11:57 pm

What a mad waste of cash

  11. Cheakerdoodels December 19th, 2007 at 11:58 pm

No ur right but the way the simpsons house works in the show is not possible so u have to extend the garage out.

  12. dustin December 20th, 2007 at 12:00 am

haha! they have it wrong its 742 not 712

  13. Junaid Ahmed December 20th, 2007 at 12:04 am

    Thats so awesome!

  14. Annon December 20th, 2007 at 12:05 am

yes.. the garage is too far out and the ‘main’ part of the house is too thin… the house itself is the right proportions.. just move the garage to the right and back

  15. jeff W December 20th, 2007 at 12:06 am

correction the simpsons live on 742 not 712

  16. shortshire December 20th, 2007 at 12:06 am

I am pretty sure they did not have trees in the front yard of the simpsons house. Shouldn’t there be butterflies in the yard because “Nobody ever suspects the butterfly”. Great job on posting the pictures.

Someone’s been watching too many simpson’s episodes - pretty awesome though.

  19. Longboxes December 20th, 2007 at 12:13 am

I remember this from a few years ago - this is a house in Las Vegas that was given away in a contest. - Yes, the garage does jut out more then in the cartoon version of the house, but they needed to do so that there was enough space on the ground floor for all of the rooms. - - I wonder if the people who one the house kept it all Simpson-y, or if they painted it an made it a “real” home.

  20. gmn December 20th, 2007 at 12:16 am

Nice job photoshopping!! You can tell with the bedroom picture — where the lamps are creating this great light reflections.

C’mon people, don’t be so gullible

  21. Steven December 20th, 2007 at 12:17 am

The reason the garage sticks out more is they moved the laundry room from the basement upstairs, since they did not build the basement for the house. This was explained on a TV special about the house. I believe it’s on one of the Simpsons DVD box sets. :-)

  22. Shawn December 20th, 2007 at 12:19 am

Does this house have a basement?

  23. webkool December 20th, 2007 at 12:25 am

  25. Al December 20th, 2007 at 12:26 am

  26. Anonymous December 20th, 2007 at 12:28 am

I couldnt imagine waking up everyday in that joint.

  32. FunkyWitDaSysTm December 20th, 2007 at 12:46 am

this reminds me of the house in Twilight Zone: The Movie where the kid and his family live and everything is like a cartoon!

  33. UncleFunk December 20th, 2007 at 12:53 am

    Yes, the garage is wrong.

Would this be the house that was offered as a prize in a contest a few years ago? I remember entering it.

    aaahhhhh!!

  42. rob December 20th, 2007 at 1:21 am

It is pretty damn close to being spot on. Yes the garage is too far out amongst other things.

  43. almightytooth December 20th, 2007 at 1:22 am

Isn’t it 742 Evergreen Terrace, The garage says 712. And I think the garage is far out to accomodate the dining room and not have a car at the dinner table. Otherwise pretty acurate i must say. WOW! im such a nerd.

  45. Gossip December 20th, 2007 at 1:26 am

    Awesome :)

  46. josh December 20th, 2007 at 1:34 am

The garage was designed like that because of lot space. The house is located in Nevada outside of Vegas if i remember correctly. It was part of a giveaway by fox and the simpsons. It is explained better on one of their dvd’s in the extra’s.

  47. Clayton Law December 20th, 2007 at 1:44 am

What the heck is that green thing on the 3rd picture on the roof?? And I agree, I think the garage is a little far out (and does the door seem kinda slanty in the first picture?).

it’d be a cool house to live in, it’s looks 60’s.

  58. wow December 20th, 2007 at 2:48 am

by trying to replicate the design as closely as possible (ie: the bright visual colors) the creators lost the general idea behind the house and are all probably gay niggers

  59. Subej December 20th, 2007 at 2:50 am

that is awesome… and yea ranvir you are right, it looks like the garage is out too far, but still very accurate the whole thing. awesome!

  60. James December 20th, 2007 at 3:00 am

That is really cool. I wonder where the fake car in the driveway came from, or how it was painted like that.

  61. Ryan December 20th, 2007 at 3:05 am

Well, in the cartoon, the garage is closer, but in the real life, if you want your garage to actually function, you need to have it farther out than what it is in the cartoon.

What a horrible place to live. Cartoons exist for a reason. This should never be applied in real life. Beautifully lit and prepared it could be a feast for the eyes, but not this… Never this. It IS creepy.

  69. Rachel December 20th, 2007 at 4:51 am

I swear. The next person that says “It’s 742 Evergreen Terrace, not 712!” is a total douchebag. We’re all REALLY impressed with your “knowledge” of Simpsons trivia, but someone beat you to it. In fact, a whole hell of a lot of people beat you to it. And maybe it’s not a mistake, maybe the house number really is 712 and that’s the closest lot they could get.

  134. Nayim December 26th, 2007 at 7:30 pm

  137. Kim December 26th, 2007 at 10:46 pm

I like this, but being the critic I am I have to say this: The garage is too far out. Google ‘The Simpsons House’ for images and you’ll see it doesn’t go that far out. Also, if you look, in the cartoon, there is a second roof sort of thing, whereas in this house, above the garage, the roof is straight across. there isn’t a door knocker on the door. There isn’t a window above the garage. I see a few more small things that would be hard to replicate in real life I won’t bring up.

And for those asking : http://www.satellite-sightseer.com/id/8355/United_States/Nevada/Henderson/The_Life_sized_Simpsons_House this is where it is. =)

theres suppsoed to be a window on top of the other iwndow on the left side and another widnow on top of the garage, bushes are in the wrong spots cars supposed to be on the left side not right, theres 1 extar tree, theres suppsoed to be a water spicket under the right widnow and an atenna on the left side of the house.

okay so, i think this is really creative, but the reason that the windows are black is because the trim isnt there, and it is in the others, same for the knocker on the door, its a progressive album. Its not all at once.

The home was built in 1997 by Kaufman and Broad Home Corporation in a promotion sponsored by FOX and Pepsi. The house was painted and furnished with items to match the television show, although the scale of the house was smaller than the house on the series. The house was given away in a contest; the winner, Barbara Howard, was a retired factory worker from Richmond, Kentucky. The house was built at 712 Red Bark Lane in Henderson, Nevada; it has since been repainted
