Most people still think of the 10 step paper cranes that we have all tried to make at some point, when confronted with the art. But these are a different league altogher. The crumpling that you see is really the paper being folded and going beyond what is considered a clean fold. what you have above is folding that exceeds 200 steps easily, all while using a square sheet and no tears what so ever. To be able to create those complex folds is akin to chess...you have to be quite the genius. Actually ALL of them are real origami.
