Forgotten Soviet Military Navy Repair Factory in Estonia

You are watching at photos of abandoned Soviet Military Navy repair factory in Estonia. It is placed at Arkula, near Tallinn. This is another one abandoned Soviet military building which once used to be an instrument in Cold War race with United States.

When Cold War ended Russia and rest of Soviet countries changed their military politics and plenty of similar facilities became useless so they had to simply abandon them leaving plenty of military equipment and arms.

You can see here a few of photos which are telling us that this facility also could contain some dangerous biological weapon. However, that fact does not stop kids from local villages to play with that abandoned but very dangerous equipment.

Ice Age 3D Street art By Edgar Mueller

I found this really cool 3D street artwork made by Edgar Mueller. He made this in Ireland at Festival of World Culture. He turned a part of the eastern Pier into the Ice Age. I must say great job Edgar, really impressive and probably the best and the most amazing street (pavement) art works which I ever saw.

Rubik Cubism – Rubik Cube Artworks

I found those really amazing and cool Rubik cube artworks which is called “RubikCubisme”. It’s shows how some people can be very creative with many thing and one of them are exactly those cubes. For someone it’s hard even to complete and to solve it but for this person it represents art material. There are many interesting motives my my favorites are Super Mario, Space Invaders and Alex from famous Clockwork Orange movie.

This one is really amazing. As you can see those are painted hands which some animal shapes. It is very nice but unfortunately I don’t know who is an artist of those. Ice Hotel In Sweden

An ice hotel is a temporary hotel made up entirely of snow and sculpted blocks of ice. They are promoted by their sponsors and have special features for travelers who are interested in novelties and unusual environments, and thus are in the class of destination hotels. Their lobbies are often filled with ice sculptures, and food and beverages are specially chosen for the circumstances. You can see ice hotel pictures below:

All of the ice hotels are reconstructed every year, and are dependent upon constant sub-zero temperatures during construction and operation. The walls, fixtures, and fittings are made entirely of ice, and are held together using a substance known as snice, which takes the place of mortar in a traditional brick-built hotel.

The ice hotel near the village of Jukkasjärvi, Kiruna, Sweden was the world’s first ice hotel. In 1989, Japanese ice artists visited the area and created an exhibition of ice art. In Spring 1990, French artist Jannot Derid held an exhibition in a cylinder-shaped igloo in the area. One night there were no rooms available in the town, so some of the visitors asked for permission to spend the night in the exhibition hall. They slept in sleeping bags on top of reindeer skin – the first guests of the “hotel.”

The entire hotel is made completely out of ice blocks taken from the Torne River – even the glasses in the bar are made of ice. The hotel has more than 80 rooms and suites, a bar, reception area and church. The hotel only exists between December and April. Each room is unique and the architecture of the hotel is changed each year, as it is rebuilt from scratch.

Since ICEHOTEL melts every spring, each year a team of snowbuilders, architects, designers and artists from all corners of the world create the Icehotel®. For the 2007/08 Winter season the ICEHOTEL spans over some 6000 m2 and has 80 rooms; Ice rooms, Ice family rooms, Ice suites and ice suites deluxe. Invited artists decorate each suite which are all unique.

The ice used to build this incredible structure is a particular feature of the Icehotel® as it is crystal clear – the fast-flowing river Torne ensures few bubbles are trapped within it. The sight, as you open the main, reindeer-skin clad doors, is simply breathtaking – a grand, ice pillared hallway illuminated by a spectacular ice chandelier.

Kept at a constant -5°C to -8°C, the interior actually feels quite pleasant, especially when outside temperatures can drop to around -37°C! Walk past several ice sculptures and imaginatively lit ice art towards one of the most popular rooms – the Absolut Ice Bar. With its vaulted ceiling, plenty of ice block seating (thankfully covered in reindeer skins) and see-though bar, it serves an impressive range of colourful vodka cocktails, naturally served in chunky ice glasses. Although hot cocktails are served in not-so-attractive paper cups, they provide an instant form of central heating, but be careful not to stand them on the bar, for obvious reasons!

Beautiful, simply and amazing. Those pictures of frozen waves are really beautiful and can can leave you without breath. If you think that this is impossible than you are wrong. This is the wonder of nature, take a look at those pictures of frozen waves.The color of ice can be used to estimate its strength and even how long it has been frozen. Arctic Ocean ice is white during its first year because it is full of bubbles.

Light will travel only a short distance before it is scattered by the bubbles and reflected back out. As a result, little absorption occurs, and the light leaves with the same color it had when it went in. During the summer, the ice surface melts and new overlying ice layers compress the remaining air bubbles. Now, any light that enters travels a longer distance within the ice before it emerges. This gives the red end of the spectrum space enough to be absorbed, and the light returned at the surface is blue. Arctic explorers and mountain climbers know that old, blue ice with fewer bubbles is safer and stronger than white ice. An added bonus for explorers is knowing that floating camps built on blue ice will last longer.

Beautiful photographies of Earth taken from space. Pictures of the Earth’s continents are really amazing. Someone told me that they are fake but still those are very interesting. You can see here how much power we spend on electricity. There are no doubt that those are really amazing but still you can watch them and to make different opinion. I wonder are tehre sometimes to be so much lights on the north or south pole, as it is in America and Europe.
